The rules every Burrowkin page is written and reviewed against.

Topics

We write about questions keepers actually ask, such as what an animal can eat, how to set up an enclosure or what an odd behavior means. Each topic is checked against what already ranks, and we skip questions that a single line answers.

Facts and sources

Every number, portion, temperature and warning is traced to a named source before publication, and the page links it. We favor exotics vet associations, veterinary schools and welfare charities, then peer-reviewed papers. Retailer pages, product listings and forum posts are never used as a source for a care parameter. Quotes are only used when we have read the original text. We do not invent expert quotes.

Health content

Health pages describe the signs that should send you to a vet and how urgent they are. They do not name medicines, give doses or suggest home treatment for a sick animal. Pages with a health angle carry a red box that lists the signs that need a vet the same day.

Independence

No page is sponsored, and there are no affiliate links. We do not sell animals or take referral fees from breeders, shops or product makers.

Updates and corrections

Each page shows the date it was last updated. We re-check pages when a cited source changes its advice. If you find a mistake, write to contact@burrowkin.com. A factual error about health or safety is corrected first, and the page's update date changes when it is fixed.
